About
Get Involved
You too can look fantastic on TV, though only if you stay friends with the editors and camera(wo)men.
Whatever you want to do, be it presenting, producing, directing, pointing cameras or editing, stoic tv has something for you. Whether you are considering a career in broadcasting (and plenty of former stoic tv members now work in the industry), or are just looking for something to do between dull lectures (or instead of really dull lectures), you'll be very welcome.
We provide full training in the use of our equipment which members can also borrow to use for personal projects if they wish. We also have regular social events and parties, just like any other Union club.
If you'd like to get involved, we'd love to meet you. Here's a choice of ways to break into our world:
- Check the events section of the website - at the start of academic year we run a series of workshops for freshers and other interested students.
- Join stoic-talk, our mailing list.
- Drop us an e-mail (see Contact Us) and we'll let you know what we're up to.
- Visit our office in the Media Centre (see Contact Us for directions). We're normally around at lunchtimes, and most other times too.
You can now buy your membership online. Don't forget to come and visit us so we can give your your membership card and computer access.
